Stacey Tanay, NP

I graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana with my bachelor’s of science degree in nursing. While going through college and graduate school, I worked at St John Hospital in Detroit in the newborn and special care nursery and OB departments. I continued my education at The University of Michigan and graduated with my master’s of science in parent-child nursing. I became board certified and licensed as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in 1996. I have been working as a nurse practitioner at Alliance Ob Gyn since 1999.  I am a former board certified lactation consultant of 10 years.  Although I do not offer lactation consultations in the office, I enjoy being able to incorporate my lactation skills into my practice by educating women about breastfeeding and treating those with breastfeeding problems. I enjoy seeing annual exam patients that I have seen for many years, some since I started at Alliance!  I am also interested in inserting IUDs and Implanon/Nexplanons and other minor office procedures.  I grew up in Grosse Pointe, MI outside of Detroit and have lived in Okemos since 1996. I enjoy the balance of working part time and being able to be a mother to my 3 children and keep sanity in our household most days.  We also have a Portuguese Water Dog.  In my “spare” time, I enjoy running and exercising, knitting and reading.  I’ve completed one marathon and one half marathon but generally just run for “fun” and fitness.
