Diane Strachan NP
This is my 27th year as a Nurse Practitioner. I come from a long line of nurses in my family going back to Scotland in the 1890's. I had a wonderful experience in my early nursing career with a Nurse Practitioner and set my sights on becoming a Nurse Practitioner in Women's Health. Along the way I worked at Sparrow Hospital Regional Neonatal ICU where I became interested in prevention and health promotion. I went back to graduate school at Wayne State University for a Master's in Nursing in Women's Health. I am certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. The Gardner Wellness Center for Women was the beginning of my journey in Women's Health. I transitioned into a Family Practice setting with a strong OB focus where I enjoyed seeing multi generational families for 15 years. I have found working at Alliance to be the ideal practice: a dedicated group of physicians, nurse practitioners and wonderful support staff providing a full spectrum of Women's Health. It is a place that allows me to help women recognize the importance of taking care of themselves. I have been happily married for 27 years to a wonderful, supportive husband and we have three happy and interesting children. When not working I enjoy biking, skiing, exercise, travel and reading.
